Parents Guide & FAQ
Please bring a water bottle and small snack. We provide the chess sets and clocks, but many students like to bring their own “lucky” set for practices games between rounds!
We use a “Swiss System,” which means nobody is eliminated. Every child will play every round (usually 3 or 4 games) regardless of whether they win or lose.
If your child knows all the rules (including castling) and can finish a game without help, they are ready! Our local events are the perfect, low-pressure way to start.
We partner with local community centers, libraries, and schools to host our events. Because we are mobile, community-driven club, the specific location may change for each tournament. The exact venue address will always be included in your Flash Alert text message!
Our events are led by our CEO Chandan Maiti, a certified USCF member with years of experience in youth chess. He is supported by a dedicated team of parent volunteers who help ensure a safe, organized, and fun environment for every player.
Welcoming players ages 5–18 years old. Whether you’re a total beginner or an advanced competitor, we have a class tailored for you.
Every lesson is a mix of strategy and fun! We combine technical theory and brain-teasing puzzles with plenty of time for live gameplay. Plus, by dividing groups by experience level, we make sure every student gets the individual focus they need to level up.
